Retford: Journey back to ancient Siam with The MOB for The King and I
The cast will feature more than 50 youngsters, all aged between eight and 18 years-old and all from Retford and the surrounding local Bassetlaw area.
Set against an exotic backdrop, The King and I tells the story of Anna, an English governess who tries to help the King of Siam reconcile his country’s ancient customs with the modern world.

Hide AdThe conflict and clash of cultures between east and west is the inspiration at the heart of this classic piece.
Also at its heart is the stunning score with numbers like I Whistle A Happy Tune, Getting to Know You, Something Wonderful, Hello Young Lovers and Shall We Dance?
Following on from their successful production of Grease last year, the MOB now invite you to join them again for a very different journey to bygone Siam and the mysteries of an ancient civilisation.
The King and I is on from next Thursday to Saturday (2nd-4th July) at 7.30pm each night, plus a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
