Alford school closed due to ‘unconfirmed’ coronavirus concerns

John Spendluffe Technology College in Alford has announced that it will be closed for the rest of this week, following ‘unconfirmed concerns’ relating to individuals at the school.

A statement posted on the school’s Facebook page this evening (Tuesday) said: “Due to possible but unconfirmed concerns raised regarding specific individuals at JSTC and possible Covid-19, the decision has been taken to close the school site in order to undertake a specialist deep clean, as a precautionary measure, for the safety of all students and staff.”

The statement added that the school site is expected to reopen on Monday (March 23).
