B & Q store opens at weekend
The store is on the site of the former Focus DIY shop on Lea Road, which went into administration and was later bought by B & Q owners Kingfisher earlier this year.
B & Q’s recent acquisition has created 19 new jobs as well as maintaining 11 staff from the old store.

A B & Q spokesman said: “The store is keen to continue to be part of the local community and in the coming months will work with the charity UK Youth to help transform an area in their youth centre with the help of volunteers from the store.”
Store Manager Richard Reeves said he couldn’t wait to open.
“The team are really excited about the store opening and serving the local community,” he said. “We’ve had a few weeks to get to know each other and we’re really looking forward to meeting all our new customers.”
