Everyone gets hooked at fishing in Alford
Despite the threat of rain, parents and children enjoyed a beautiful evening at the club’s fishery on the outskirts of Alford.
Using the simple equipment that is provided by the club, there were lots of fish caught including a 2lb eel.

Hide AdLast week’s event is part of a series of free events giving anyone the chance to come along and have a go at fishing.
The next event is due to take place on Sunday, July 17 July from 5-9pm with two further events taking place on Wednesday, August 10 (5-8pm) and Sunday, August 21 (2-5pm).
It all takes place at the club’s lake which is situated in Brickyard Lane, Farlesthorpe.
James Roche, senior regional officer for the Angling Trust said: “Fishing is a great activity that the whole family can enjoy together.

Hide Ad“Burgh Angling Society have a great bunch of volunteers that will show you everything you need to know to catch your first fish.
“There are loads of fish to be caught at Dales Pit, it’s a great place to learn about fishing.”
