'˜It's like we are 21 again': Skegness dancers meet again for Dame Vera's 100th birthday
For the past few months Debbie Jenner and Julie Kirk have been rehearsing alongside 70 of Dougie Squire’s ex-Young and Second Generation dancers who are taking part in the show on Saturday, March 18.
It is the first time Debbie and Julie have danced together in 44 years - but when the Standard caught up with them at a reunion with Janice Sutton in Skegness they said it just felt like old times.

Many will recognise it as the opening song from the award-winning film La La Land.
Julie said: “It’s like we are 21 again. We are doing a lot of things we probably shouldn’t. I go home and think maybe I shouldn’t have done that last lift. But we are having a fabulous time.”
Both dancers continued careers in the spotlight after leaving Skegness. Debbie, who appeared in numerous TV shows, including BBC’s ‘The Good Old Days’, now lives in the Wolds, often travelling to the Netherlands where she introduced aerobics and still instructs teachers.

Hide AdJulie’s first job was in LA. She has appeared on the West End stage and more recently, in 2013, was one of the dancers in Sky 1’s Got To Dance, hosted by Davina McCall. She now lives in Wales and teachers Zumba Gold.
They met up with Janice at The Vine Hotel in Skegness. Janice said: “I’m so proud of my girls. They are both so talented. We’ve had some great times.”
