Hundreds of Worksop residents gathered at the town’s war memorial on Sunday (November 8) to pay their respects servicemen who have died for their country.

All generations were present and joined the procession at yesterday’s service, which began in front of the town hall at 10.10 am under the direction of the Parade Marshall Sgt Neil Orton.

The parade was then inspected by the deputy lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, Mr William Parente and the chairman of Bassetlaw Council, Councillor Gwynneth Jones. Worksop Miners’ Welfare Band played during the inspection.

The parade then made its way through Market Square down the War Memorial via Potter Street where the traditional two minutes’ silence was observed.
