Wheelchair Basketball Club officially launches in Louth
On Wednesday, January 6 - The Hoop Stars Hotwheels Wheelchair Basketball Club celebrated their official launch following support from Magna Vitae’s sports activator, Josh Dellow, whose work is Lottery funded by Sport England.
The support enabled the club to access the facilities at the Meridian Leisure Centre in the town for their first 12 weeks and has been promoted to community groups and local Schools, helping to increase the number of participants.

Hide AdEast Lindsey District Council awarded a community grant of £4,500 to the club which helped with the formation of the group and for major venue costs, travel expenses and supportive equipment maintenance.
The Basketball Club has now established itself as a weekly fixture at the Meridian Leisure Centre on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm.
Qualified coach Adrian Kennedy who runs the club commented: “Without the support of Josh and both the Community Grant and the Marian and Leslie Howe Church Fund, I would not have been in a position to establish the Club as a prominent proposition.”
The club welcomes anyone to join in, including people without disabilities, young and older; to learn a new sport and enjoy the social interaction.
