Withern pupils hit the 100% mark once again
Staff and pupils at St Margaret’s CE Primary School in Withern were delighted to discover that all who took their Key Stage Two exams last summer had achieved Level 4 in reading, writing and mathematics.
Many pupils went one step further, with 57 per cent achieving a Level 5 or above in reading and writing, and 71 per cent achieving Level 5 in mathematics, bringing the average attainment per pupil to a Level 5C.

Earlier this week, head teacher James Siddle told the Leader that he was “very pleased” with the latest results, and shared the secret of the school’s success.
Mr Siddle said: “This success has been achieved thanks to the outstanding teaching and curriculum, and the high expectations that we have for our pupils - we have a relentless focus on teaching and learning.
“Our pupils have achieved well above the national average and we are very pleased with their work.

Mr Siddle added that the school had become oversubscribed as it continued to attract pupils.
The school’s pupil population has more than doubled in the last three years (from 34 pupils in January 2013 to over 70 pupils now), and Mr Siddle praised team members at the school for managing the situation and achieving continued success.
