Anston captain J. Marsh looked assured and confident as he reached 54 but the introduction of spinners A. Menzhausen (3 for 33) and captain S. Bird (1 for 7) meant wickets kept falling.
A handy patnership between J. Littelwood (22) and J. Mason (23) pushed Anston above 100 but tight bowling from J. Palfreyman (0 for 7 off seven overs) and T. Rix (4 for 18) restricted Anston to 133 all out.
