Worksop: Angry Westwood hits out at critics after slump at US PGA Championship
After finishing third in The Open last month, the Worksop golfer began his 63rd major well, shooting a first round 66 to put himself amongst the early leaders.
A three over par 73 made his task more difficult on the second day, but a 68 on the third day at Oak Hill helped him recover to hold an outside chance at success.

Speaking before the final round, Westwood said: “My game has been great all week other than a poor finish yesterday, which you can’t really afford to do in major championships, give shots away like that.
“My game is a strong game, getting better every day. I’m pleased with the work I’m doing with Sean and feel like I’m getting more control on the golf ball. I like the work I’m doing on the greens as well, I feel like I’m putting a good roll on it”
However, Westwood did not react well to criticism on Twitter, addressing a series of aggressive tweets to ‘haters’ and ‘trolls’ this morning (Monday).

After a series of over 50 tweets responding to comments from more than 500,000 followers, Westwood posted: “Not been hacked. Just honest. Bored now. Westy out.”
