ON a wind swept day on the coast, the newly drained Chapel pitch looked superb, the work being carried out extremely well.
In gale force conditions, Mariners lost the toss, and faced the full force of the wind and the seaside outfit.

Honours were even for 30 mins the strong gusts making the game a lottery.

Then Chapel hit a purple patch and scored four goals in 10 minutes to make the task hard for Mariners to get anything out of the game at half time.

If Mariners expected the wind to do it for them, in the second half, it didn't and Chapel with a four goal cushion scored three more with a solitary goal from Damon Short.

Mariners must now get on course and start again with a cup game at Kirmington on Saturday.

Transport leaves Wood Lane 1pm prompt.
