THE ONE remaining 100 per cent record in the Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League fell when Louth United were beaten by Hykeham Town at Saltfleetby.
Town made the journey hoping to protect their own unbeaten run and came away with the three points.

There are now only two unbeaten teams in the league, Hykeham and Ruston Sports.

Two goals apiece for Rob Newman and Stuart Hanson sealed three points for Hykeham.

Newman opened the scoring after 20 minutes and five minutes later the blustery conditions helped Hanson's cross drift into the top corner to double the lead.

Having knocked the ball over the home keeper's head it looked as though Newman was going to make it 3-0, but he was thwarted by an unfortunate bounce and a defender who managed to get back to clear off the line.

Just before the interval Jamie Aldrich reduced arrears from the penalty spot following a handling offence.

The pacey Hanson restored the two-goal advantage five minutes after the break when he burst through and buried his shot in the bottom corner.

Newman scored his second on the hour to make the final score 4-1.

Louth travel to third placed Ruston Sports on Saturday and things are so tight in the league that victory for Simon Aldrich's men would pinch that third spot.
